Mike had been coming and visiting Nick at least once a day since he fell sick and landed in hospital. His college schedule was mental, as was the demand going to med school, but he always fitted in time for his friends. Nick was probably one of his best mates, and they were FWB roomies. Mike really cared about him and although Mike knew he really wasn't ready for another relationship after his engagement with Quinn ended, Nick had only been looking for casual too so what they had worked. There was still and affection between them, though, and they gave each other comforting. Plus, Nick had been really sick and he hated being in hospital. Comfort was always a good thing for that.

But when Jeff appeared in the doorway, Mike's eyes widened in surprise. He really hadn't expected to see that guy. He knew the whole story of the elevator, what happened, what went down, and how Nick ended up in a coma from it. Nick wasn't really a secret-keeper in that sense. They actually had a bit of a laugh about it when he was feeling well enough to see the amusing side. But really, he hadn't expected to see the blonde appearing any time soon. He released Nick's hand and looked between him and Jeff. "I might make myself scarce. You guys should probably, uh... debrief."
